I recently heard of a man who sold his services on e-Bay. He will call one a week (I think?) and insult you. It can be for motivation or just cruelty. I never knew you could get paid for telling someone how terrible you/they/everyone thinks they are. It's obvious that there are some unusual things that go on in the world. It all depends on how you look at it I guess. You might think being belittled is exciting where someone else might think it appalling. Having worked in prisons I've seen people can find the ability to do anything. As I've said previously, I have thousands of stories that would curl your toes. Here's one I'll share, so if your a little squeamish, stop reading now.
We had an inmate come into the emergency room (the hospital was placed inside a maximum security prison) with a complaint of rectal problems. He was always coming in for one made up problem or another, trying to get placed in a hospital bed and out of the cell block. He once bit his lip and spit the blood into some fecal matter and claimed his rectum was bleeding. He was gay and having "relationship" problems; hence wanting to get away for a little while. Anyway, this particular trip to the emergency room, an x-ray was performed. It indeed showed a blockage in his anus. He had placed three asthma inhaler cartridges (the metal piece) inside. The Doctor questioned him about this and we got the story mentioned above. The Doctor was interested in one detail in particular, we couldn't figure out why the first two were inserted upright, while the third say sideways...??? The inmate stated casually that "When I put all three up there they kept falling out, so I had to turn one sideways to hold them in."
That is one of my tamest stories. I do believe I've just about seen it all. It's amazing what the body can put up with. It's more fascinating what people will do with their bodies.
More later; better go do some work.
As a little note - the spell checker doesn't recognize rectal. It wants to change it to recital. How odd....

Hi Harley,
I think that by now you've realized most of the puzzles I've been putting together throughout my career are directly associated with figuring out criminal activities and holding those who are responsible accountable for their relative participation in these activities. So, as mentioned in your post I've also seen a myriad of "things" that humans are capable of. The puzzles I've solved over the years range from petty malicious activities to the intentional taking of human lives and most everything that falls in between.
I'm always amazed at the persons of interest and what they're capable of doing when I solve these puzzles. As I solve these puzzles I try to crawl into their minds and try to think like they did when they were performing the acts that brought me into their lives. This isn't always an easy task... crawling into their minds, thinking like them. Quite often I'm surprised by the brutality and seemingly total lack of care for humankind... not only to others but to themselves.
Just when I think I've seen it all something new comes down the 'pike and I'm that much more "educated". For the first twenty years of my career I've focused my collection of facts and solving of puzzles on acts involving people versus people, primarily... during these past ten years of my career I've focused on collecting facts and solving puzzles relative to people versus their environment, primarily. Through it all I've realized one (of many) commonalities... humans are capable of anything.
Early on I reached the point of no longer being shocked by what I've discovered in my fact finding quests and have resigned myself to expect the unexpected as I try to solve these puzzles. I've become calloused in a lot of ways and certainly mindful of the "puzzle maker's" capabilities and disregard for most anything standing between them and their ultimate goal.
It's certainly obvious to me that people, if unchecked by morals, societal influences, rationality will do anything to get what they want, to serve their self desires regardless of whom or what their resulting actions may affect.
Let's just say that over the past thirty years I've never had a day go by where I haven't had a puzzle to solve. In the puzzle solver's world we call our surroundings a target rich environment.
Spontaneity, craziness, disregard, cause and effect... humankind's dark side.
