Happy Easter.?

I'll wish it even though I don't believe in it. Yes, I believe in the resurrection and that Jesus died on the cross. What I don't believe in is Easter. It's a pagan holiday (as is Christmas) that the Christians adopted as a religious holiday. I will not get into a lot of religious discussions as it is one of those subjects best left alone. I will say that I'm not affiliated with any church in particular but I'm against several; the catholic faith is the biggest. I won't talk down about it but I will just say I don't agree with it. I wouldn't want to offend anyone by talking bad about their particular belief system, it's just not for me.

I hope everyone enjoys the day no matter what, it's another day to enjoy. It's a very gloomy day, rainy and dark. I can see a bit of fog on the mountainside, out of the window I'm sitting behind. Everyone will be eating their ham or turkey for dinner tonight. I had mine last night, leftovers tonight! (I love turkey)

It's amazing how protective people can become over a belief. Religious wars come to mind. I can't see killing/fighting with someone for not agreeing with what I believe. Everyone has their own background to sway the way they think. So who am I to say my thoughts are better than yours or yours are better than mine? Believe what you believe and let's enjoy our differences. That's what makes us unique.

Can you tell I've been looking into the perils of our world? Quote of the day; God created man, Colt made men equal, and nuclear weapons made men deadly.

It must be the time to talk religion, everyone is in the office talking religion. It's always funny how many arguments come from the talk of religion. It never ceases to amuse me at what lengths people will go to prove themselves right and everyone else wrong.

Enough for me.

Another great post! Having been raised as a Catholic and having been "escorted" away from the church in my early years I can identify with both sides of the religious discussion.

This "church" abandonment of my brothers and I provided afforded us to view things differently. It provided us the opportunities to take a rather surreal and competing view of religious foundations and beliefs. Difficult to grasp at first, simple to maintain in our later years.

Either way, it's safe and enlightening.

Bottom line, don't get involved in farting contests with your brothers on wooden pews. The whole church hears... and the priest isn't all that understanding.

P.S. Thanks for the nice comments and post to my guestbook. Like you said it's always refreshing to know someone out there is actually reading this stuff.
